Diary of a Curtain Twitcher (Metropolis Ink, Dec. 2001) by author Andy J W Davie is the story of a reclusive writer who welcomes a temporary housekeeper into his home, only to find himself falling in love and a whole lot of trouble. Things take a dramatic turn when together they learn of a murder plot. Battling his agoraphobic tendencies, he tries to foil the murderous plan, but winds up having to save his own life and that of his newfound love. John Joiner and his housekeeper Maria, fall into a web of intrigue as they try to warn the victims. They quickly learn that all is not as it seems. Running from powerful villains, they follow a trail of danger and deceit, ultimately leading them to an explosive conclusion.
Forty-year-old Andy J W Davie is happily married and a proud father. He lives with his wife Kathleen and daughter Kayleigh in Harefield, Uxbridge on the outskirts of London. Andy gets his flair for suspense from his late father Gordon Davie, a motion-picture film editor at Pinewood and Shepperton studios who worked with directors Carl Foreman and Ridley Scott, and helped edit films such as Born Free, The Guns of Navarrone, The Young Ones and Thelma & Louise.
Andy took up creative writing as a form of therapy after the loss of his daughter Kira in 1997, and quickly became passionate about his stories. Writing Diary of a Curtain Twitcher fuelled his passion for writing. He is now working on his third novel and has a fourth already planned.
